Goodbyes and Farewells.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

I was sitting at the big table at Coffee Daze café waiting for any of my friends to show up. I wore a simple black button up and red pants. I hadn’t told anyone why I invited them here, just that I had news and a decision to make. I took a drink from my tea and messed with the chapped layer on my lips. I looked around and sighed.

[Sveinn]

"Still going through with things after all pet?" Sveinn asked as he walked up to her. "I must admit that I'm.... dissapointed." He was frowning slightly but doing a good job of keeping his voice level. "If you side with him I'm afraid I cannot even consider you a friend." The psychic's eyes blazed angrily as he spat out, "Did he ever tell you about his little visit to my home planet?"

[Ella Lyghtstone]

I looked up at Sveinn and smiled. “Don’t be an idiot, I’m not not leaving with him. I thought you said we would have an adventure?” I slide to the edge of the booth and grabbed the ends of his shirt. “No he didn’t, why don’t you tell me then? I obviously have the time.” I stared up at his eyes. I wanted to kiss him so he wouldn’t be angry anymore.

[Sveinn]

Relief flooded his face and he collapsed into a chair. "Oh, uh, good." He said sheepishly. "Sorry I jumped to conclusions." He ordered himself a cup of black coffee and settled down.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

“You’re alright, love. It was an easy mistake.” I waved my to show it was nothing. “So are you going to tell me what happened or are you dropping it?” I asked raising an eyebrow and picking my tea back up.

[Sveinn]

Sveinn's eyes turned cold again and his lip curled back. "His army took it over and enslaved my people. I haven't heard anything from my family since. But I occasionally hear stories." He shuddered and for a second his purple eyes blazed. "Babies and children torn away from their mothers and being thrown into burning houses, women being violated then killed and the men being enslaved or executed. I hear they torture them for fun." He was digging his claws into the table to keep from exploding as he continued. "That's why my cousin took so much interested in the dead. She wanted to become a necromancer. She wanted to raise the dead to fight against his army. But," Sveinn shrugged and leaned back in his chair suddenly calm. "She failed. Ceres got herself killed by Ambrose one night and that was the end of that."

[Ella Lyghtstone]

My eyes turned hard and grew darker, a little more like bronze than sunny yellow. My hair started to raise much like that of a threatened animal. “I can’t understand why he would do such a thing.” I was angry and for some reason I felt betrayed. “Ceres was my friend and roommate for a time. And though I can understand why she wanted to pursue that magic but I know first hand how that magic can corrupt minds and souls. She should have found another way to go about her rebellion.” I sighed talking about that time gave me a small headache. I rubbed my temple. “I’m sorry. I had no idea that had happened to your home, Sveinn.” I leaned my head on his shoulder. Trying to comfort him.

[Sveinn]

The way she had decided to criticize his cousin rather then condemn what Margurka had done pushed him over the edge. The psychic stood up without warning and spat coldly, "I have to go." Without another word he stormed off and teleported away.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

“Wait!” I started to get up to follow him but he was gone. I sighed. “I’ve said something stupid again.” I grumbled to myself. “I need to fix this. I’ll have come back here later.” I thought of where Sveinn was most likely to go. I left the café to start looking for him.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

(Much later in the evening)

I came back to the café after Sveinn finding me and we talked things over. I went back to the booth I was sitting in before. I just had to wait for Margurka now. My purple and gray dress definitely sent a message but if he’d know that is something I’m unsure of. “Peach tea, please.” I ordered for myself.

[Sveinn]

Sveinn sat by her side and pulled out a joint to relax. He was tired of all this garbage and wanted to move on. If the fire dragon started shit he'd gladly fight him but had better things to do. After all, he was supposed to meet his dear cousin in an hour to cross over.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

“Are you alright?” I asked, looking at him over my tea as I took a drink. I eyed the joint curiously.

[Margurka]

A crack like a distant whip roared through the town as a small ship flew into place resting gently above the city. Only the size of a large dragon itself, the craft smoothly landed in the clearing in front of the cafe.

[Sveinn]

"And let me guess, it's Mr.Dramatic himself." Sveinn said rolling his eyes at the sound. Stepping through a portal like a normal person must be below him." The dragon put out the joint and leaned back.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

I laughed at his comment. “I suppose it must be.” Humor danced in my eyes for a moment. “He must have been expecting this to be going a different way. Too bad.”

[Sveinn]

"I do have to leave in 50 minutes so if this turns into a fight don't hold it against me if I ditch." He said as he ordered a beer. "I have a small time frame to reach my portal before it closes. Ceres won't be happy if I miss it."

[Ella Lyghtstone]

I shook my head. “If you start it I’ll finish it.” I said and I ment it, I wanted a fight my body was buzzing for one. “If you are going please be careful and come back to me in one piece.” I held his hand. My gaze was towards the window, I watched the ship.

[Sveinn]

"I'm not promising I'll make it." He chuckled. "But I've accepted that. If I die that's that." He shrugged and downed his beer. "Why fear death? What's there to fear?" He leaned back again and let his tail curl up in his lap. "I'm going to war. Don't know what will happen."

[Ella Lyghtstone]

I looked down sad. I tucked a section of hair behind my ear. “I understand.” I chuckled at the irony. “Just when I finally get you to myself, you have to leave. I’m not saying to promise to come back but at least try.” I tried to cheer up. “But hey what will be, will be.” I turned to him and smiled as brilliantly as I could muster.

[Sveinn]

"You know you're welcome to come. We could use all the help we can muster." He said as he watched the door. "If you have any friends who would be willing to help too that would be great." He wasn't above asking for help.

[Margurka]

The bay doors to the ship opened and a group of guards set up a perimeter on approach to the cafe, followed by several draconic warriors forming a line at attention. A hulking form, the knight clad in what was practically a mech suit, glowing as if made out of magic, lumbered out; ahead of me. No fancy garbs. A collared blazer decorated with several crosses, bars, and stars overlaid my hooded paupers tunic, wyvern-hide boots, strapped over military khakis. The only sign of royalty being the engraved mask embedded in my face.

[Ella Lyghtstone]

My smile fell as Margurka emgered from his ship. “I do want to go. I just thought you didn’t want me to. You said we would have an adventure and what better adventure is there than revolution?”

[Sveinn]

"See, this is why I love you." He chuckled with an eager shine in his eyes. Sveinn glanced at the whole ensemble with mild interest. "Leave it to him to make it a big deal. Can't even face you one on one. Bloody coward if I've ever met one." He muttered under his breath. He wanted to get this over with as the clock was ticking. "We'll be meeting Ceres in the forest in twenty minutes. I'll teleport us directly there. I believed she'll be in the carcass of a deer this time." He said to her telepathically.

[Margurka]

The white knight stopped outside the front of the cafe, too large to fit in the room designed with common folk in mind. I walked in alone, an anxious smile on my face as I approached Ella. “The disadvantage of being royalty on Colagart is somebody is always trying to kill you. Apparently upon coronation, I lose authority to protest these kinds of escorts to the Council. I meant for our meeting to be a more private affair.”

The same shiver I always get when he speak in my head ran down my spine. ‘Why a deer?’ I asked him.’“I love you too.’ I added with a small smile.

“Ah. Hello Margurka.” My voice was tight. I fiddled with the hair band on my wrist snapping it against my skin a few times.
