[Tavarius]

"Hm," I enjoyed sipping the wine, "my father was an alcoholic, but being an Emperor, well most turn a blind eye in the acknowledgement of the pressures. Not to mention, the whole dying empire thing, most people were alcoholics before the end.. I should stop yammering about that shouldn't i?"

I rubbed my face, feeling awkward.

[Athemise]

"You can keep going if you want." I said taking another sip

[Tavarius]

"Hm," I shook my head, finishing my glass, "it's not a trip down memory lane I like to take. If you'd like to hear it though, I would tell it."

[Athemise]

"I understand if you are uncomfortable with it so perhaps another story?" I said as I finished my glass and served us some more, "This is refreshing. Nice swim and some wine." I said to him.

[Tavarius]

"How about more from you? This Adrastia sounds like an intriguing tale. Afterwards I could explain to you the concept of Volum, and why she makes Adrastia a load of bullshit," I joked, hoping she'd understand. Whereas most suggested people not speak of religion, politics, Colagartrunes did the opposite. Though Colagartrune's murder rates were ridiculous.

[Athemise]

I started laughing, "Surprisingly, that's all I know about her. Didn't and haven't gotten the time to research her. All the books are here on Amets. How about your planet. Tell me more." I said drinking some more

[Tavarius]

"Hm, well, the concept of Volum is a bit pretentious admittedly, but everything about Colagartrunes tend to be pretentious, so it's pretty understandable on some level," I shrugged keeping a good attitude about it, "however it is a concept I believe in whole-heartedly. Volum is a word untranslatable to common tongue, but it was chosen that way partly on purpose because you can technically define the word as 'that which is inconceivable'."

I finally finished descaling and gutting the fish. I pulled some timber from the trees nearby telekinetically in the meantime, igniting it, finally setting the fish for cooking. Being around a campfire, sharing tales made me feel at home suddenly. I looked across to Athemise smiling gently, glad she was here to listen.

"Volum is supposed to be true immortality; godhood. The state of omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. Colagartrunes believe that this is the only true definition of godhood, and all others are false pretenders, just mortals who defeated fate through conceivable means such as magic spells to extend life by ritual sacrifice, or learning healing spells that have been lost to history that can cure any disease; dragons so powerful and terrible, nobody can challenge their rule and live.

We wouldn't mind that too greatly if it were the truth; Colagartrunes seek something similar. We believe ascendancy to godhood is our right as mortals. But the power of Volum, it is no possible within our universe. Our universe has restrictions that even magic cannot defeat. The elements are all restricted to one's imagination; they can only do conceivable feats. Thus, a true God would not be able to exist in our universe. Being able to create a universe is only within God's power; Volum's power. So you will often hear us personify Volum as a woman, but that is only to simplify the concept; 'she gave birth to the universe.' Because before the universe, there was nothing, and nothing is an inconceivable concept and so only Volum could bring it about.

And that's how this all ties into our strict stance on the darkness. It is said that the darkness may be consuming the energies of the universe. If that is so, then it is eventually going to reduce the universe to nothing; making it the closest thing to Volum we have. So we believe that if we can make people understand and accept the scourge and the people suffering from it, that one day, the entire universe will see its benefits and potential; and ascend together to that plane of existence of true godhood in a glorious peace. An existence without needs or desires, and the power to ascend those who died before ascension as a result."

[Athemise]

During his story I leaned on him and closed my eye. It was really interesting but I was too tired. It was from the dessert I tried to make and when I couldn't sleep. I leaned next to him with my bangs in my face again

[Tavarius]

I went into the basket after finishing my speech and fish, and found the amazing assortment of snacks. I barely had a moment to react when I noticed Athemise starting to collapse over from my shift in position. I quickly shifted back, realizing she'd been unconscious, not wanting her to fall over. I smiled meekly, carefully lifting her to take her back up the beach to the lighthouse; basket in hand.

[Athemise]

I knocked out real good as he carried me. There were only a few words I said l, sleep talking by accident, "We forgot.. the cake " I whispered. In my head, I felt bad for sleeping and said quietly, "I'm sorry."

[Tavarius]

"Hush," I whispered, making our way into the lighthouse, I rested Athemise in her bed, being careful to tuck her beneath the sheets. I began to leave the room, but upon reaching the door, I turned back to look upon her. Something overcame me, perhaps it was temptation at the picnic basket full of sweets, but regardless; I returned to her side. I laid in bed, finishing most of our food before falling asleep basket in hand.

[Athemise]

I tossed and turned after a few hours, nightmares began for a tiny but I calmed down after a while and hugged Tavarius in my sleep. An hour later, I woke up and it was dark. I was still hugging him and found him asleep with the basket. I noticed he ate most of the snacks. In return I leaned in trying to kiss his cheek hoping I didn't wake him but I had a feeling he might.

[Tavarius]

I inhaled deeply as I slowly opened my eyes, rising a bit at the kiss, "hi," I said groggily.

[Athemise]

"Hi," I said nervously at him waking up. "I, um, was, uh,"I started clearing my throat nervously. I then tried to lean back slowly pretending I didn't do anything but I stayed still staring at him. "Hi," I said again laughing.

[Tavarius]

"Ugh..." I rubbed my eyes, "we probably shouldn't have slept through the day. It's going to be difficult to get back on track, to sleep tonight."

[Athemise]

"Sorry," I said at fault. "I guess I couldn't sleep last night and decided to cook for today." I said letting go of him slowly as I looked at him, "I fell asleep during your story. It was cause of the cooking. Not you." I Stayed still

[Tavarius]

"That is fine," I yawned, "the food was delectable. You have a gift. It was thoughtful; sweet even."

I chuckled, toying with Athemise's hair.

[Athemise]

"Thanks. I tried." I smiled and put my forehead on his as he played with my hair. "I'm glad you liked it."

[Tavarius]

I kissed her affectionately, "I'll take my leave for now then. I should get dressed and cleaned for the remainder of our night. I'm sure the ocean looks lovely in the night. On some planets the waves glow, I bet Amets' are beautiful."

[Athemise]

I hugged him and kissed him back not wanting to let him go but I did. "Yeah they glow. We can go check them out after I get dressed." I said noticing I was still in my bathing suit and got up

[Tavarius]

In my room I showered and made my way to my luggage, assembling my decorative armor from a pair of the heavier suitcases. I slipped on the unitard which morphed to form to my body, before sliding the white polymer into places on my shoulders, forearms, torso, waist, and in the form of massive boots. Golden trimmings shined underneath the cape as I attached it to the shoulder pads. I brushed my hair hastily, before pulling my hood up and heading back out to meet Athemise.

[Athemise]

I ran around in my room not knowing what to wear. I randomly got a high low dress that looked more Victorian and something I usually wear. I put some make up on and put my hair to the side. I made sure I looked nice and put on some wedges to be taller. I opened the door and saw Tavarius outside the door. "You ready?"

[Tavarius]

I whipped some preserved flowers from my sleeve, "I'd prepared these in case the weekend did not go too well; so at least I could offer a symbol of apology. Flowers are for mourning on Colagart, but as I understand, they are an object of affection on other worlds as well; so it still seemed appropriate."

[Athemise]

I grabbed the flowers and smelled them, "They're beautiful. Thanks." I smiled as I put them in a vase in my room. "Ready?" I said grabbing his hand.

[Tavarius]

"Yes, though I have to admit, I'm not sure I have quite anything more than flowers this time, but maybe a quiet night on the beach is just what we need after all this excitement," I said, escorting Athemise out onto the shores.
