The Stone of Livens

[Rodriun]

I stepped through the portal, after having spent days searching for it alongside the others, and readied myself for what might be on the other side; raising a two-handed steel axe with a spear point while the rest made their way through the portal.

[Lacie Albus]

I stepped through the portal behind Rodriun and looked around. The planet was old and decrepit, as if a riot broke out and everyone just disappeared. The winds were strong, and dirt and debris blew everywhere. "We're going to have to find the castle!" I called out over the wind.

[Rodriun]

I holstered my axe, and it shrunk back to nothing more than a metal rod, before slamming into the ground with an electric pulse. The air calmed within our proximity, "we have a few moments before the winds whip away that shield, let's review the plan. Wherever Excalibur is, the castle is our best bet to find it, correct?"

[Lacie Albus]

"That's the thing. We don't know where Excalibur is." I said. "All we do know is that the pieces have been shattered." I pulled out Merlin's journal. "From the way Merlin was writing about this Aurelio guy, he sounded like a noble of some kind. If he had the ability to break a sword this great and powerful, he was probably of great importance to the monarchy." I closed the book. "If we go to the castle, we can probably get more information on where the pieces of Excalibur were hidden."

[Athemise]

I popped out of the portal smiling, "Sorry I'm late. Couldn't find my sword and just got back. Finding Excalibur huh? Well I'm in!"

[Rodriun]

(hey, Aurelio is my therapist's name, small world...)

"Right, and finding the castle will also be its own task, though fortunately this city seems abandoned; and its residents completely dead. Our option to split up is much more feasible under these conditions. However, a planet-wide search may yield worse, so our first priority is maps and government documents to locate the proper city; most likely the capitol, considering such an important task."

The sound of the winds began to rise again.

"Anyone have questions?"

[Athemise]

I shook my head. "What if I send psychic waves to find anything to a castle? It can give us a direction on which way to go." I said to them.

[Rodriun]

"Can your psychic waves pierce the entire planet?" I condescended, "because the odds of this being the very city we require are literally incalculable."

[Athemise]

"That will take a lot of energy but yes, I can do my best." I said to him as tossed him my weapon, "Give me a moment to relax and focus." I said closing my eyes trying to find my center. "This might tickle you guys." I said as I inhaled. I exhaled and released psychic waves that started to go around the planet. I opened my eyes and waiting for a response. "That way!" I pointed towards west

[Lacie Albus]

I tossed my bow over my shoulder and walked westward, pulling my jacket over my shoulders to prevent the dirt from scraping my bare arms.

[Rodriun]

"You best hope we run into no threats; by Volum that must have cost a lot of power, which would've better served keeping us aware of threats and coordinated in battle," I said, following Athemise's direction, flying up on my wings.

[Lacie Albus]

I pulled an arrow from my quiver. "I'll keep on guard. Let me know if you see anything up there." I called up to Rodriun.

[Rodriun]

"You should consider attending PE with Walker, he trains dragons in their wings, you could use the advantage well as an archer," I called, scanning the horizon.  The streets were still.  I felt as a man peering over a table sized model of Livens, rather than the actual city hundreds of feet below.  Eerie did not begin to describe it.

[Athemise]

I walked beside Lacie holding my sword. "I'll back you up."

[Rodriun]

"How far did the castle seem?" I called to Athemise, "and did you feel any psychic anomalies near it? Any minds? In fact, I'm curious as to how you located it."

[Athemise]

"It took a while, so I'm guessing it's far. About the psychic anomalies, there might be. Something felt weird around the place." I said honestly as I continued walking.

[Rodriun]

"I wondered because there is a castle in the distance. Think it could be our location?"

[Athemise]

"Who knows. So what is this Excalibur for?" I asked him. "I felt like going on an adventure."

[Rodriun]

"We believe it was once used to face against Necros, and so since he has a time artifact, we must find it, if we wish to have any hope to defeat him once and for all. Luna still has not realized her full potential in wielding her element, so to rely completely on her would be foolish. The thought however, has crossed my mind that Excalibur may be the very artifact that Necros is using. If that is the case, this will confirm it, and give us at least the advantage of knowledge. Learning its abilities and how to counter them should be obviously beneficial."

[Lacie Albus]

"What do you think that psychic energy might have been?" I asked. "Do you think there are others here?"

[Rodriun]

"Psychic energy is generated by three things that I know of," I answered, "psychic artifacts, time artifacts, and sapient presences. So it is likely we are not alone."

[Rodriun]

"Though I'm not the psychic dragon," I addressed Athemise, looking for her input.

[Lacie Albus]

"What if there are dark dragons here?" I asked.

[Rodriun]

"Then I will likely be the only one to survive on account of my speed, and highly successful strategic tactic of running away," I said bluntly.
